Northern Colorado AIDS Project mission: to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS and to help reduce the spread and stigma of the disease. NCAP does not discriminate in practices or employment opportunities on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
NCAP’s primary goal is to help all people in northern
NCAP is not a medical clinic, but facilitates access to specialized medical care. NCAP can provide referrals to HIV/AIDS medical centers for treatment, including highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). NCAP also has community partners that provide vision and dental services to qualified clients. Clients can get help with transportation to and from medical-related trips for local or regional care. NCAP does not want any person living with HIV/AIDS to be denied treatment because of inability to pay; case managers can determine if a client is eligible for insurance co-pay/premium help (if insured), assistance with housing, medications, nutrition, direct emergency financial assistance, among other services. Having insurance is not necessary to receive client services at NCAP.
NCAP has the experts that serve those living with HIV/AIDS, and helps clients navigate the often complicated process of gaining access to other aid (such as food stamps, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, and housing) provided by the federal and state governments. NCAP also maintains a food bank onsite for client use. Intake interviews can often be scheduled within a week of calling.
