Northern Colorado Aids Project

Prevention, Testing, & Referrals

Prevention Services

NCAP's prevention services strive to eliminate the spread of HIV/AIDS within northern Colorado. We do this by offering individual and group behavioral counseling, providing outreach and education in the community, and distributing safer sex & drug use supplies. Because HIV is a behavioral disease, NCAP tries to reach those individuals whose behaviors put them at the highest risk for contracting or transmitting the virus. These individuals include: Men who have sex with men, IV drug users, People living with HIV/AIDS, and any sexual or needle-sharing partners of these individuals. However, we understand that any individual who has engaged in unprotected sex or IV drug use may be at-risk for HIV, and therefore we are available to talk with you to help you decide if you might benefit from prevention or testing services.

Testing Services

NCAP offers confidential and anonymous HIV testing options. The type of test you are offered and its cost will depend on your level of risk. NCAP does not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to get tested for HIV, so please contact us to discuss pricing options. Currently, NCAP does not provide testing for other STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). Please scroll down for a list of agencies that offer STI screening and treatment services.
